A message from Dr. J – COVID-19 insurance updates, European outbreaks, and Vitamin D3

October 31, 2020

Greetings from Dr. Jensen,

I am now able to take insurance during COVID-19, including Medicare. I take most insurance plans and am glad to offer this option for you again. Feel free to reach out via the Medici app to discuss and set up an appointment with me.

For those with Medicare (only for now), I have a “waiting room” where you can “see” me virtually by clicking this link. Just let me know beforehand when you are going to show up in the online waiting room and we can talk. It’s a little easier than the app as it can also be used in a computer browser. Medicare continues to cover telemedicine during the national health emergency.

Additional COVID-19 updates:

Europe is currently suffering from a major outbreak of the Coronavirus and US cases are now above where they were in the peak of summer. Arizona is faring well compared to the midwestern States. Europe is becoming more strict due to the new surge in cases.  It will be fascinating to see what US State governors decide to do in light of what seems to be another spike in cases.

When considering prevention and immune support during COVID-19, don’t forget about vitamin D3. There is strong evidence that it helps prevent and even treat COVID-19 illness. See a few recent studies linked below:

– Vitamin D3 deficiency commonly seen in hospitalized COVID patients.

– Bolus of vitamin D3 supplementation 80,000 IU during or just before COVID-10 was associated with less severe COVID-19 symptoms and lowered mortality by 89%.

Many of the leading health organizations are not including this information in their protocols for treatment and advice for doctors and patients. Make sure you are getting vitamin D3 with normal sunlight exposure plus supplementation if needed.

Best to you and your family,

Dr. J
